Loyalist College says fall and winter semesters will be adjusted

The Loyalist College semester will be adjusted depending on how long the current faculty strike lasts.

That’s according to Sr. Vice-President Academic and Chief Learning Officer Ann Drennan. This comes as tomorrow is the last day for faculty to vote on the latest offer made by the College Employer’s Council.

Drennan says, at this point, classes are expected to resume next week. The semester will be extended until December 22nd and resume on January 2nd. However, as results of the vote are still unknown, details around fall term completion dates, and winter term start dates, won’t be finalized until students return to class.

Drennan says the December 1st deadline for tuition payments will also be adjusted depending on when the winter semester starts. Colleges will also have to establish dedicated funds to support students who have been financially affected by the strike.

Ontario’s college faculty has been on strike since October 16th. You can find updates on the strike at Loyalist College by clicking here.
