Strike to continue at Loyalist College

Loyalist College is now in uncharted territory.

That’s according to President and CEO Ann Marie Vaughan. This comes as faculty members at Ontario’s 24 colleges have voted to reject the latest offer from the College Employer’s Council. The longest college strike in Ontario’s history will continue. Faculty has been on strike since October 16th.

Despite having expected classes to resume next week, Vaughan says colleges continue to work on contingency plans based on the changing situation. She says Loyalist is not in a position to speculate on what will happen next, and says the college is committed to providing updated information as it becomes available. Talks have resumed between Ontario’s colleges and the union representing faculty.  The two sides went back to the bargaining table after meeting with Kathleen Wynne this afternoon.
