The 12 Days of Holiday Fire and CO Safety is back.
Fire departments across Ontario have announced they will be continuing the educational campaign. Starting December 7th the public is encouraged to listen for the fire safety tip of the day.
According to fire prevention officers there is often an increase in fires and fire related injuries during the holidays.
The listener that calls the station back, and repeat the safety tip correctly, receives one of 12 prize packages.
Some of the safety tips include watering fresh trees daily so they don’t dry out and encouraging smokers to do so outside. In Bancroft, the North Hastings Fire Service will be taking part in 2017.
