Apsley residents to be given high-tech access to health care

The Peterborough Family Health Team will be providing Apsley residents with a new temporary way to access healthcare services.

This comes as the health team continues to look for a new family doctor for the community, after the retirement of Dr. Wagdy Rayes.

The health team has announced Apsley residents will soon have access to a virtual family doctor through telemedicine services. Not only will the temporary clinic be able to enroll patients, it will also help them transition to the community’s eventual new family doctor.

The service has yet to be introduced, and the health team says there are still some pieces to the plan that need to be worked out. North Kawartha Mayor Rick Woodcock says he has no doubt that once the pieces are aligned for the telemedicine service, the town will once again have access to the care it requires.
