In late August Bancroft OPP was called to investigate a vehicle fire on Brethour Road in Hastings Highlands. The vehicle was a GMC pickup truck that had been stolen from a home in the Ennismore the previous night. That same morning Bancroft OPP received a second report of a theft, that of a Ford pickup truck from a home on Mira Street in Hastings Highlands. Police investigtion of these two thefts has resulted in a 24 year-old Bancroft man being arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, theft over $5,000, Arson and possession of a schedule 1 drug. The suspect has a Bancroft court date in late October.
