Opposition Leaders Address Parliament

The opposition leaders have also addressed parliament on the tragic shooting yesterday. Leader of the Opposition NDP Leader Tom Mulcair called the act cowardly and said it has only strengthened Canada’s resolve. He offered condolences to the family of Nathan Cirrilo and saluted Sergeant of Arms Kevin Vickers. Mulcair also expressed thanks and support for our armed forces.

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau said yesterday’s events were a shared national tragedy and called Corporal Nathan Cirrilo a hero. He offered his deep and sincere gratitude to the brave women and men who selflessly and courageously came to our aid yesterday and added that without the courage of Sergeant of Arms Kevin Vickers, a terrible situation could have been much worse.
