Patrons of the Village Playhouse in Bancroft were generous at Saturday night’s Gala and in return received a wonderful performance by Gregg Lawless and his group. Playing a range of musical stylings, Gregg kept the audience clapping and even singing along. The Playhouse Operations Committee runs a Gala each year to raise funds for the operating and maintenance of the theatre. The Playhouse receives no monetary support from any level of government, relying on theatre rentals and the generosity of the community. Saturday raised nearly $4,000 to go towards the much needed repairs to the roof and gallery.
