Impaired Driver, Rescued from Burning Car, Faces Charges

A 31 year-old Haliburton man, accused of impaired driving, is lucky to be alive. South Frontenac OPP says that the accused drove off an embankment along Green Bay Road in South Frontenac, and landed upside down. The driver was unable to get out of the car, but a second man, who responded to the sounds of the crash, as able to free the driver and get him back up the embankment just before the car burst into flames. Police arrested and charged the driver with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and driving with a blood-alcohol level over 80. The suspect required medical attention for some minor injuries.
