The Coroner’s Office is investigating after human remains were found at the scene of cottage fire. Peterborough County OPP and the fire department were called to a fire at a cottage early Saturday morning by a neighbour. When the fire was put out, fire fighters discovered the remains. The Coroner’s Office is investigating, with help from the OPP Crime Unit and the Fire Marshall’s Office. Although the fire remains under investigation, it is not deemed to be suspicious in nature at this time. A post mortem has been ordered.
