Stretch of Highway 62 closed due to collision

UPDATE #4:

Highway 62 has been reopened between Highway 620 and Upper Turriff Road following this morning’s fatal crash.

Bancroft OPP says 18-year-old James Keller, from Tudor and Cashel, was killed when his pickup truck went off the road and hit a rock-cut. There was no one else in the vehicle.

Police continue to investigate.

 

UPDATE #3:

An 18-year-old from Tudor and Cashel is dead after a collision on Highway 62 in Limerick.

It happened just after 6:30am today. Bancroft OPP says James Keller was killed when his pickup truck went off the road and hit a rock-cut. There was nobody else in the vehicle at the time.

Police continue to investigate, and Highway 62 remains closed between Highway 620 and Upper Turriff Road. Old Hastings Road has been set up as a detour. There is no word yet on when the road will reopen.

Highway 62 is closed between Highway 620 and Upper Turriff Road because of a fatal collision.

It happened this morning.

Police and firefighters are on scene redirecting traffic onto a detour which has been set up on Old Hastings Road.

Bancroft OPP says there is no word yet on when the road will be reopened, and will provide updates as they become available.

Highway 62 is closed at Upper Turriff Road because of a serious collision.

That’s according to Bancroft OPP, which says the road is expected to be closed throughout the morning hours.

Police and firefighters are on scene directing traffic onto Old Hastings Road, which has been set up as an alternate route.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

Because of the road closure, R&L Bus Lines says students who live on Highway 62 between Highway 620 and Upper Turriff Road will not be picked up as buses are being rerouted.
