Two Men Fined a Total of $5,750 for Bear Hunting Violations

$5,750 in fines were laid in the case of two men who pleaded guilty to illegal bear hunting. Darran Moore, of Little Britain, was fined $1,500 for hunting bear within 400 metres of a waste disposal site and $3,000 in total for failing to comply with conditions of a licence and using another person’s licence. His partner, Jeremy Williams of Sunderland, was fined $750 for hunting a bear within 400 metres of a waste disposal site, and another $500 for failing to comply with the conditions of his licence. Both men also received a suspended sentence for possessing a black bear that was unlawfully killed.
