Cardiff gets federal help for water service upgrades

Highlands East will be getting some federal funding to put towards water service upgrades in Cardiff.

Council learned at this morning’s meeting that it was successful in applying for a $75,000 grant. The money comes from Infrastructure Canada’s Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.

Highlands East Mayor Dave Burton says most of the work is done, but the money will help with culvert replacements. Burton didn’t have a timeline on when the work would be finished.

According to a report shown to council, the grant will help the work come in under budget.
