Diabetes is a medical problem that is growing in Canada. Right now there are over nine million Canadians who have diabetes, or are in a pre-diabetes situation. Diabetes, uncontrolled could lead to blindness or the loss of limbs, along with many other health problems. Signs and symptoms can include the following: unusual thirst and frequent urination, weight change (gain or loss), extreme fatigue or lack of energy, blurred vision, frequent or recurring infections, cuts and bruises that are slow to heal and tingling or numbness in the hands or feet.The Canadian Diabetes Association is sponsoring a Tag Day this Thursday to raise awareness and funds. The Bancroft Lions Club will be at Foodland from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to hand out Tags and collect any donations.
