Bancroft man charged for allegedly shooting Q-tips at family

A Bancroft man is accused of using a BB-gun to shoot a Q-tip at a nine-year-old girl.

Kingston Police say it happened in the city last summer, when the man was living with his girlfriend and her children.

Police say he was abusive to the family to get the kids to listen. In one case, the 25-year-old is accused of causing the young girl to start bleeding after a Q-tip went through her skin. In another, police say he tried to shoot his girlfriend in the face.

Because of the alleged abuse, the children were moved out of the home, and sent to live with family in Manitoba. That’s when a police investigation began.

The man turned himself in on Wednesday, and has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon. He will appear in court at a later date.
