A former RCMP officer whose Bancroft area home was raided in March of 2013 on weapons concerns, has been handed a seven year plus prison term. David Allan Kift was found to have 67 firearms, including assault rifles and machine guns hidden at his home at the time of the raid. Kift was at that time on parole for a previous conviction of gun trafficking. Kift will only have to serve six more years after an allowance for time already served during his trial. He apparently plans to appeal.
