Tree Lighting Ceremony Starts Festive Season

An unofficial start to the festive season was held last night at the Old Train Station in Bancroft. Between 40 and 50 people turned up to enjoy hot chocalate, apple cider, chilli, and music while awiting the moment when the tree lights would be turned on. Chamber of Coimmerce staff served the drinks and chilli, while Robin Clark of Mountain Creek Ranch, brought two shetland sheep, dressed as reindeer, for children of all age to pet and have their pictures with the sheep. Just before 7:00 p.m. Chamber General Manager Greg Webb welcomed all and thanked those who sponsored the trees. A chorus of Jingle Bells was sung by the crowd and then after a count down, the tree lights were turned on. They will remain on during the entire season.
