Quinte region hockey team looks to win big with good deeds

North Hastings residents are being asked to support the Quinte Red Devils’ efforts to make local communities better places.

The Triple A hockey team is one of 10 finalists for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup, which recognizes PeeWee teams from coast to coast for their service to their communities. The Red Devils is made up of kids from across the Quinte Region, including Bancroft’s own Tyson Carr.

Manager Tanya Carr says the team has been taking part in clothing drives, serving dinners in retirement homes, and cleaning up local parks. Carr says her 12-year-old son contributed to making Bancroft a better place.

Carr says the team also raised a lot of money for a good cause by wearing pink jerseys on the ice.

Because of these efforts, the team has been named one of the finalists for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup. If it wins, it gets $15,000 to put towards the Ronald McDonald House, the team’s charity of choice.

Carr says you can help the team clinch the prize, just by clicking here, scrolling down, and watching the Quinte Red Devils’ video. The team with the most views walks away with the prize. Carr says the Red Devils’ minute-long video is something you won’t regret watching. The deadline to watch is this Sunday.
