A new initiative will soon be rolled out to connect North Hastings residents to the right resources when they need them.
Members of the Bancroft Community Safety and Well-Being Committee are working on a ‘who to call’ handbook. Ontario Works Supervisor and Bancroft and Area Support Team Chair Andra Kauffeldt says it’s meant to be a one-stop-shop for municipal employees to get residents in touch with the local resources they need. Kauffeldt says the committee is also working on developing one-page pamphlets to distribute to local residents.
Constable Philippe Regamey says the pamphlets will also outline the difference between when residents should call 911 or the local detachment.
Kauffeldt says she is hoping to have the resource finalized in the coming months. The initiative is a partnership between the committee, Hastings County, the Bancroft OPP, and North Hastings Children’s Services.
