Bancroft’s Mayor would have liked to see the province invest more money into revitalizing Hastings Street North.
This comes as Bancroft is set to receive $39,331 as part of the province’s Main Street Revitalization Initiative. Communities across North Hastings will each receive roughly the same amount.
Mayor Paul Jenkins says he feels as if Bancroft should have received a larger share.
Jenkins says the town is thankful for what it has received, but is unhappy it wasn’t recognized as the regional hub in North Hastings.
Jenkins says main street revitalization is an ongoing effort in the town of Bancroft. He says the town was not expecting to receive the money, but will put it to the best use it can.
