Mike Bossio says a nearly $43,000 Canada 150 grant will be given to the Bancroft North Hastings Heritage Museum.
The MP for Hastings-Lennox and Addington says the funding will go toward an over $85,000 project to improve accessibility at the museum, and to electrical, heating, and insulation upgrades. Bossio says you couldn’t ask for a better investment than this because it will help keep local artifacts safe, and make sure people can see them.
Bossio says this project also fits in with the federal government’s goal of promoting reconciliation.
Mayor Paul Jenkins says the grant will help make sure the Bancroft area’s rich and varied history is recognized on a year-round basis.
