The process of studying Bancroft’s waste water treatment plant has begun.
A kick-off meeting for a Comprehensive Performance Evaluation of the system was held earlier today. The week-long evaluation spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change will look at the design, maintenance, operation, and administration of the plant. Senior Program Analyst Aaron Law says the goal is to find out how to make the best use of the current plant.
Law says a report summarizing the findings will be released by the end of this week.
The report will be presented during an exit briefing at 10:00am on Friday at the town office. However, the process of implementing the steps from the report will continue into 2019.
CAO Hazel Lambe says this is one piece to addressing the town’s high water and sewer rates.
