A candidate has been named to represent Ontario’s NDP Party in the Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding.
Nate Smelle will be on the ballot for the NDP during June’s provincial election.
Smelle is a journalist in Bancroft. He says this has taught him to listen, which will benefit the riding.
Smelle says he’s excited to run because he feels he understands the political views of the people in the area.

The NDP says Smelle is a passionate advocate for the environment.
The provincial election is coming up on June 7th.
Ontario’s Progressive Conservative party has selected Darryl Kramp as its candidate for this riding.
