Highland Shores wants you to consider becoming a foster family

Highland Shores Children’s Aid wants you to rethink what family means by considering fostering local youth.

The organization says there is a need for more foster families in the area to help bring a sense of belonging to local youth in need of a good, safe home. The reminder comes as Family Day is right around the corner.

Executive Director Mark Kartusch says it can take up to six months to become a foster family.

Kartusch says, if you do decide to sign up, children’s aid will be in touch with you to make sure you are the best match for a child’s unique needs.

If you’d like to find out more about becoming a foster family, you can call HCSA at 1-800-267-0570. Adoption is also an option.
