Bossio wants you to start thinking about federal grants for seniors

Now is a good time to start thinking about applying for some extra cash to put towards projects that benefit seniors.

That’s the message from the MP for Hastings-Lennox and Addington. Mike Bossio is encouraging you to start getting information ready to support your application for a New Horizons for Seniors grant.

Bossio says some projects could be eligible for up to $25,000 if they engage seniors, or improve accessibility for them.

Bossio says this type of funding is important for both seniors and communities as a whole.

Applications for the New Horizons for Seniors grant are not being accepted yet, but will be in the coming months. Bossio is encouraging anyone who wants help with their application to contact his constituency office.

Between 2016 and 2017, projects in Bancroft, Boulter, Carlow-Mayo, and L’Amable received over $188,000 in federal funding for seniors. That represents more than 65 per cent of the funding set aside for the Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding.
