Bossio applauds federal funding boost for small communities

Mike Bossio is applauding a federal infrastructure funding boost that will benefit small, rural municipalities.

The MP for Hastings-Lennox and Addington says, when small communities with fewer than 5,000 residents apply for funding, the federal government will now be taking on a bigger share of the cost.

Bossio says the funding is available for projects like road and bridge repairs, along with improving broadband internet. He points to Hastings Highlands as an example, saying they could apply for federal funding to help with Highway 62 repairs.

While the province will still get a say in which projects get approved, Bossio says he will continue to lobby for communities in the Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding.
