Quinte Health Care says it would not call you and ask for personal information.
The reminder was released on QHC’s website. Communications & Community Relations Manager Catherine Walker says this comes after someone in the area was asked for their date of birth by a person claiming to be with QHC.
If you get a call like this, QHC wants you to report it by email to [email protected].
Bancroft OPP Constable Philippe Regamey is reminding anyone who gets an unsolicited phone call to hang up if they’re in doubt about it. Regamey says they should also report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. If you had money taken from you because of fraud, you are being encouraged to report it to your local OPP detachment.
