North Hastings’ Fire Chief will express his concerns about mandatory certification for firefighters to Hastings Highlands Council.
The province is currently looking into updating existing laws which would see certification become required for all of Ontario’s firefighters as early as next year. However, Fire Chief Pat Hoover says some of the changes will not be achievable because of time constraints and cost.
The issue will be brought up during Wednesday’s council meeting, which starts at 9:00am at the Hastings Highlands Centre in Maynooth.
