Highlands East won’t receive funding to repair Dyno Road

The province will not be helping Highlands East repair Dyno Road.

Last year, the municipality applied for a $2-million Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund grant to realign the road, and make it less bumpy for drivers. Council learned last week that the request has been denied.

Mayor Dave Burton says the municipality has budgeted $50,000 this year for an assessment of the road. Burton says repairs to the road will start next year, event without the province’s help.

Burton says $600,000 will be spent on improving Dyno Road next year.
