The Maple Leaf Snow Skimmers has reopened the snowmobile trail that connects Bancroft to Lake St. Peter.
President Stuart McDonald says the recent snowfall has allowed the club to start repacking some of its main trails. But, McDonald is urging all riders to be safe.
McDonald is also asking anyone with an ATV or side-by-side to stay off snowmobile trails to prevent them from being damaged.
While the club is working to get the main trail open, McDonald says some secondary routes still have water on them and are unsafe to ride on or groom.
The Old Hastings Snow Riders and the Opeongo Snowbirds have also opened some trails with limited availability. To see which routes are open, click here for the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs’ interactive trails guide.
