Bancroft OPP have charged a 24 year-old Carlow-Mayo Township man after almost hitting him on Monck Street with their cruiser. Officers were patrolling Monck Street in Bancroft when the man stepped onto the street, forcing police to swerve. The man was discovered to be intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication. He damaged the cruiser while being taken to the detachment. The accused has been charged with: failing to comply with a probation order, resisting arrest and mischief. He is to answer to the charges in a Bancroft court in January.
