There could be more transportation options for Highlands East residents but it will take time.
That’s according to a presentation made by Bancroft Community Transit during Wednesday’s Highlands East Council meeting. BCT currently provides daily bus service between Cardiff and Bancroft and hopes to expand its services. The municipality helps fund the program with $10,000 a year. However, Director of Operations Gwen Coish says the goal is to increase its area of coverage.
Bancroft Community Transit is applying to the Ministry of Transportation to expand its services. In her report to council, CAO Shannon Hunter says since the application is already in and that the county is also exploring potential transportation options, more discussion is needed between the county and BCT.
