Province releases Sunshine List; includes hundreds locally

Over 450 local public-sector employees have made the province’s Sunshine List.

The list released on Friday shows public-sector employees who made over $100,000 in 2017.

It includes 166 employees with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, and 106 with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. Director of Education Mandy-Savery Whiteway topped the public board’s list, making just shy $200,000 last year. The Catholic Board’s Director of Education Jody Dirocco made nearly $217,000.

Quinte Health Care also had 93 employees on the sunshine list. The company’s top-earner was President and CEO Mary Clare Egberts, who made almost $330,000.

Bancroft CAO Hazel Lambe, Hastings Highlands CAO Pat Pilgrim, and Highlands East CAO Shannon Hunter also made the list. Twenty-six Hastings County employees make an appearance. CAO Jim Pine earned more than $175,000 last year, which is higher than any other county employee.

The list also includes 35 Loyalist College employees, 10 from Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society, 12 from Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health, and two from Addictions and Mental Health Services Hastings and Prince Edward. The Bancroft and South Algonquin family health teams each had one employee on the list.
