Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the Ecole Polytechnique Massacre

Tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the Ecole Polytechnique massacre. According to Jen Cureton from the Peterborough-Haliburton YWCA, domestic violence is 12 per cent of violent crime in Canada. In 1989, Marc Lepine went into the university, targeting women. He killed fourteen women, injured ten and four men before killing himself. Cureton says 50 per cent of women in Canada will experience domestic violence at least once in their lives. Tomorrow has since been marked the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
