Up to 250 tourists expected to go to Highlands East for outdoors race

As many as 250 visitors could be coming to Highlands East on July 21st. Council gave its blessing to the Rockstar Adventure Race, which will be returning to Bark Lake after a two-year absence. Participants can either do a four or eight-hour race using a combination of peddling on mountain bikes and paddling through the lake.

Cec Ryall is the councillor for the ward and says the race is a great opportunity to showcase the Highlands East scenery to visitors.

Ryall adds he is glad the company hosting the race is bringing it back.

The race starts at the Bark Lake Leadership Centre and takes participants down Bark Lake Road, and will also be on Irondale Road, as well as Contau Lake Road and a small section of County Road 503.
