A special event will be held to celebrate the hard work volunteers put into making Bancroft a better place.
The event is being organized by the Volunteer and Information Centre of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. Coordinator Irene Halliday says it’s important to celebrate local volunteers because of the impact they have in the community.
The celebration, which marks the end of volunteer appreciation week, will be held at the Bancroft Legion from 11:30am until 2:30pm on Saturday. Halliday says there will be more than a hundred volunteers there.
Halliday says this is the first year the event will be held, so it’s a starting point. She says there are plans to expand in the future.
