First candidate steps up to become North Kawartha’s mayor

A North Kawartha Councillor wants to become the community’s next mayor.

Carolyn Amyotte has signed her nomination papers, and submitted them to the township. The four-term councillor says she has considered the move for a number of years, but feels now is the right time to go for it. Amyotte says she would have a valuable perspective to bring to the table.

She says she wants to bring a balanced approach to the role, which would allow everyone to feel included. If elected, Amyotte says one of her goals would be to make sure North Kawartha is sustainable.

She says she works very hard to serve the community, and wants to contribute even more.

So far, Amyotte is the only candidate to submit her nomination papers to run for mayor. The municipal election will be held on October 22nd.
