FluMist Vaccine Shows Promising Results

A provincial study done in Peterborough last year has shown that a nasal spray version of the flu vaccine called FluMist was effective and preferred by children over the injected version. Dr. Rosana Pellizzari, Medical Officer of Health for Peterborough, and one of the study’s authors, says this is a better vaccine for kids. The FluMist vaccine, which is sprayed into the nose of children, seemed to reduce their anxiety about getting immunized. Dr. Pellizzari says this is the recommended way to immunize children.
