Algonquin Park campsites to open after delays

If you’ve been waiting to camp in Algonquin Park, you won’t have to wait too much longer.

That’s because campsites in the park will officially open tomorrow for the summer after numerous delays because of winter-like conditions.  Dave Coulas, Parks Superintendent at Algonquin Park, says you should make sure to pack for the environment.

Coulas says that with over a million visitors every year at both campsites and in the backcountry, it’s important to make sure to keep it nice.

He also says that you shouldn’t feed any wildlife when you’re in the park. To avoid the wildlife coming to you, he says to make sure all food is sealed and packed away if you’re leaving the campsite.

Ontario Parks says that some campsites may still have winter hazards which could affect your experience. Because of this, all visitors with reservations up to the night of May 15th can still get a full refund or change their booking free of charge.
