Alcohol ban in place for Bon Echo Park

If you’re going camping in Bon Echo Park for the May long weekend, you can’t bring alcohol in with you.

That’s according to Ontario Parks, which has instated an annual alcohol ban at a number of parks across the province around Victoria Day weekend. One of those parks being Bon Echo, which doesn’t permit alcohol between May 11th and 21st.

Ontario Parks says it’s enforcing a zero-tolerance policy and if you’re caught drinking on your campsite, police will deal with the matter.

Alcohol is permitted in Bon Echo after the ban is lifted on May 21st. The ban does not affect Algonquin Park, Lake Saint Peter or Kawartha Highlands Park.
