Two men charged after police scanned their plates

Bancroft OPP is reminding you that officers have the technology to scan your licence plates. Using Automated Licence Plate Recognition systems, police can check to see if your plates are unlicenced or expired, or if your driver’s licence is suspended.

This reminder comes after officers charged two people accused of driving with suspended licences after scanning their plates. Bancroft OPP says the first man was pulled over on Highway 28 in Highlands East on Saturday. The 46-year-old Scarborough man will now face a driving while suspended charge. Then on Sunday, another man was pulled over on Highway 27 in Faraday. The 40-year-old Toronto man has also been charged with driving while suspended.  Both are set to appear in Bancroft court on July 3rd.
