Some Algonquin Park beaches closed due to algae

Algonquin Park has some of its beaches after testing positive for blue-green algae.

Public beaches located on the Lake of Two Rivers just off of the Highway 60 corridor have been closed until further notice after testing confirmed blue-green algae was present. David Tantalo, Manager of Environmental Health for the Renfrew County and District Health Unit, says there’s ways to spot it in the water.

Tantalo says coming in contact with the algae can be dangerous to your health as well.
