Algonquin Trail work set to continue this summer

Renfrew County is moving forward with the Algonquin Trail.

When completed, the trail will stretch over 200 kilometres. Jason Davis, County of Renfrew Manager of Forestry and GIS, says this will be a huge factor in keeping Ontario connected.

Davis says that while a lot of work still has to be done, the county is already in good shape because of the effort of others over the winter.

He says the county is having a website built that will have an interactive map for residents to use to find out which sections of the trail within Renfrew County are open. If you’re riding on a trail and see crews working, you’re being asked to avoid these areas until the work is done.
