Students at North Hastings High School are hitting the polls today for a mock election.
While the votes themselves won’t count towards Thursday’s Provincial Election, NHHS Civics Teacher Kendra Kilpatrick says it’s an important lesson for students to learn the voting process.
Kilpatrick says in weeks leading up to the student vote, students have been taught various skills to make them informed voters in the future.
She says there’s been a lot of interest leading up to the vote.
Kilpatrick says it’s important for students to understand how a democratic voting system works, as they are the voters for generations to come.
