Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health has released its weekly public beach report.

According to the report, 13 of the 18 beaches have been tested for E. coli and have been reported safe to swim in for residents. The other five beaches have yet to been sampled, so the health unit cannot say if they are safe to swim in yet or not.

Beaches the health unit say are safe to swim in include:

Centennial Park, Deseronto (Bay of Quinte)

Centennial Park, Northport (Bay of Quinte)

Diamond Lake Beach (Diamond Lake)

Echo Beach (Papineau Lake)

Frankford Park (Trent River)

Fosters Lake Beach (Fosters Lake)

Hinterland Beach (Kaminiskeg Lake)

Kingsford Conservation Area (Salmon River)

Legion Park, Marmora (Crowe River)

Moira Lake Park (Moira Lake)

Roblin Lake Park (Roblin Lake)

Tweed Park (Stoco Lake)

Wellington Beach (Wellington Bay)

Beaches that have yet to be sampled for E. coli by the health unit include:

Booster Park Beach (Crowe Lake)

L’Amable Lake Dam (L’Amabale Lake)

Riverside Park (York River)

Steenburgh Lake

Wollaston Lake Beach (Wollaston Lake)

Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health Senior Public Health Inspector John Cannan says beaches in North Hastings will be tested once a month because contamination is less likely do to the water being cooler.
