PC Party wins in North Hastings High School student mock election

Students in Bancroft have had their voices heard, and it’s very similar to the rest of the province.

This comes after a mock election held at North Hastings High School prior to the 2018 Provincial Election. Of the 271 students that voted, nearly 53% chose the PC Party, while 17% voted for the NDP.

However, after that the results were different than in the actual election with the Green Party receiving 10% of student votes and the Liberals getting 5%. NHHS Civics Teacher Kendra Kilpatrick says that while the mock election didn’t count, it was important in helping students prepare for when they vote for the first time legally.

Polling stations in the school and vote counting was all done by students as well.
