A car wash to help build a community garden has exceeded its expectations.

That’s according to Future Whitney Leaders, a group of young men and women that serve to better its community, who held a fundraising car wash Saturday.

The car wash was held at the Whitney Fire Hall and had a $200 goal, with hopes to put all of the funds back into the area to build a community garden. By the time the car wash was wrapped up, more than $400 had been raised by the group.

The group says all of the money will be donated, and says the support from the community during the car wash was amazing.
