News Bancroft Gearing up for Canada Day Celebrations SHARE ON: Mathew Reisler, staff Thursday, Jun. 28th, 2018 Canada Day is this weekend and Bancroft is preparing for a big bash to celebrate our Nation’s 151st birthday! It all kicks off at 2 PM at Riverside Park with a new band playing live up until 6. The shows kick off with the Salt Cellars at 2 and end with Blues Boyler at 6. There will be a kids zone set-up with a giant slide and pirate ship to play on. Councillor Tracy McGibbon says she always gets excited for Canada Day because of the community aspect of it. //www.mybancroftnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/mcgibbon-celebrating.mp3 McGibbon adds that if you are heading down to Riverside Park for the concerts, or the Foodland parking lot to take in the Fireworks at dusk, she recommends bringing a chair because there will be plenty of room for you to find a good spot to sit. Also, with a heatwave hitting Bancroft this weekend, she thinks it would be a good idea to bring an umbrella along to help block the Sun.
