Bancroft Gearing up for Canada Day Celebrations

Canada Day is this weekend and Bancroft is preparing for a big bash to celebrate our Nation’s 151st birthday!

It all kicks off at 2 PM at Riverside Park with a new band playing live up until 6. The shows kick off with the Salt Cellars at 2 and end with Blues Boyler at 6. There will be a kids zone set-up with a giant slide and pirate ship to play on.

Councillor Tracy McGibbon says she always gets excited for Canada Day because of the community aspect of it.

McGibbon adds that if you are heading down to Riverside Park for the concerts, or the Foodland parking lot to take in the Fireworks at dusk, she recommends bringing a chair because there will be plenty of room for you to find a good spot to sit. Also, with a heatwave hitting Bancroft this weekend, she thinks it would be a good idea to bring an umbrella along to help block the Sun.
