Health Canada Reminds You to Not Forget to “Slop” on Sunscreen This Summer

Health Canada is reminding you to not over-think it: if you’re spending time outside, put sunscreen on!

The “Slip-Slop-Slap” campaign has been going on for decades and Health Canada says it still applies to us today. You slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat. It’s an easy way to remember what you need to do before you head out for a day in the Sun.

They say some things are often get over-looked with sunscreen is how you do need to reapply it throughout the day. Health Canada recommends every 2 hours or and more often if you’re swimming or sweating a lot. They added that sunscreen does have an expiration date! It’s important that you check your sunscreen bottle to make sure it hasn’t expired. If it has, it won’t be as effective at protecting you.
