Haliburton OPP charged both the driver and passenger of a car stopped on a routine check along Highway 35 at Clarence Road in Minden Hills last Thursday. The driver failed a screening device and was arrested. During their investigation, officers also seized a quantity of suspected marihuana and morphine. The driver, a 24 year-old Algonquin Highlands man, has been charged with driving with a blood/alcohol rating over 80, possession of Morphine and possession of Marijuana. The passenger, a 61 year-old man, also from Algonquin Highlands, was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking. The two are to appear in Minden court in March, to answer to their charges.
