Manager of Public Works: Road Work to be Completed as Planned

Road work slated to start in the fall is necessary to make sure they stay in good shape.

At yesterday’s special council meeting road work was approved for Old L’Amable Road, Lakeview Road, Maxwell Settlement Road from Shannick to Lake Road, Oak Street from Vance Farm Park to the intersection of Bridge Street West and culverts and ditching will be done on Chemaushgon Road.

Bancroft Public Works Manager Perry Kelly says following the asset management plan is important.

That plan details how much traffic uses the road, the wear and tear on the road surface and the condition rating. Kelly says the plan is set for the next five to eight years.

Kelly added that there are many factors he looks at when determining what roadwork is necessary.

He adds that residents shouldn’t expect any major traffic delays because work crews will allow normal traffic flow.

The request for proposals to complete the work will be sent out by Monday. Kelly expects that paperwork to be done by July 23rd and that the work will be start by September 14th.
